Indoor Water Fountain FAQ's

Q. Is any water ok to use in the fountain?

A. We will not warrantee a pump that is used in hard tap water. If the water were you live is hard, you must use distilled water or RO water. This will keep the build up of minerals out of the pump for longer pump life.

Q. When I turn on my fountain the water is running violently. What should I do?

A. On the new fountains it may be necessary to train the flow of water. Take a damp cloth. From under the spigot gently do a ½ circle working your way down the tube. This will train the water to flow smoothly.

With fingers spread open the center of the flower ring. Carefully put the flower ring over the spigot onto pail.

Q. What do I do if there is a film on the tube.

A. Get a large pipe cleaner at a craft store. Wet it and the tube. Work the pipe cleaner in the tube to clean it.

Q. The flowers are in the way of the water and they are making the water splash out.

A. Take the flower ring off. Rotate the groups of leaves or flowers so that the largest leaves are facing the outside of the ring. After the flower ring is back on the fountain bend up any leaves that may still be in the water flow. Once you get the flower ring set it will stay out of the water flow. If the flower ring sets lopsided you can run the cord through the flower ring. Have someone hold the flowers out of the way while you train the water.

Q. Will I have to change the pump?

A. These pumps are submersible for aquariums that run 24/7. They should work for a very long time. If they do have to be removed they can be taken out from under the tube and replaced. We will replace the pumps up to 90 days after that you can purchase replacement pumps for a reasonable price.

Q. The water in my galvanized pail fountain seems to turn milky. What can I do?

A. There seems to be a substance on the finish of the galvanized pails. You can put a little distilled white vinegar in the water to keep the tubing clear and change the water more often.

Q. How often do I need to change the water?

A. You should change the water once a month. If you run the fountain 24/7 just add water every few days or weekly depending on the size of your fountain and your climate. If you are going to have the fountain off drain the water.

Q. I want to change the color of my flower ring.

A. Many craft and department stores have seasonal candle rings. You will need to watch the size of the ring and the fullness of the flowers to match the size of your fountain. You can purchase additional rings on our site.
